Nest Adoption Program Supports Sea Turtle Conservation in Broward County

On February 24th, National Save The Sea Turtle Foundation Marine Biologist Connie Versteeg presented Nova Southeastern University and the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program a check for $8,520, which was generated in 2017 from the Foundation’s Adopt A Nest* Program. Sea turtle nests are carefully monitored and protected along Broward’s busy beaches by a team of students and volunteers that require funding for much needed supplies and equipment. This program allows the public to become directly involved in the protection of specific nests, and participants receive information about the success of their ‘adopted’ nests.
