A few questions answered

After reading through many comments, I am going to answer a few here…

INSPIRATION: I usually get my inspiration from things I read about or hear about on the news. My MS degree is in Marine Biology and I have worked in sea turtle education for 4 years now, so education about sea turtles comes very easy to me. I do write all articles here myself and as of yet, have not had any guest bloggers, however, maybe a thought for the future.

RSS Feeds: I am not quite sure what this means, so I cannot help you set up an RSS feed.

LINK: Yes you can add our link to your page! We would love to have exposure to more groups of caring people!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: As of right now, we do not have any volunteer opportunities. We may have a few mailings this summer we may need help with, but we do not work directly with any sea turtles…we support/fund many organizations that do. If we do need help, I will post it on the website.

LOCATION: We are located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

If you have further questions, please e-mail me or leave a comment.

Been a while

Wow how time flies! I am a high school teacher as well as the Marine Biologist for the National Save the Sea Turtle Foundation and for the past few weeks, time has been flying by as we are wrapping up the school year. So, I apologize that it has been over a month since my last post. I have been reading/sorting through all kinds of comments and since I am a bit new to this, I was unaware that I could mark some as spam, so here I am getting 100s of spam comments trying to sort out the valid ones. Well, anyway, I want to thank everyone for all the great comments and thoughts. For those of you writing spam…I wish I could find you and get you to stop. Well, hope to get back to regular writing again this week.

Miami Seaquarium Adult Lecture Series

I recently gave an adult presentation at Miami Seaquarium (Feb. 11) and was a bit disappointed in the turnout. It was a free event and other than staff, there were only maybe 5 others (plus a few children) in attendance. I don’t know why attendance was so low…perhaps not enough advertising, perhaps too far to drive, maybe it was too late (7:30). I didn’t put it on the blog since I didn’t know much about the event prior to the date, so I apologize for that, but if I would have known that getting people to go to a “free” event was so difficult, I perhaps would have done things a bit differently. Anyway, I guess I am just a bit frustrated and would like to encourage you to attend free lectures if the topic seems even remotely interesting. Imagine being the lecturer or the host organization and only having 5 people show up. Just a note…
